FULL CONTAINER LOAD (FCL)

A Full Container Load (FCL) indicates that a single consignee is receiving an entire 20' or 40' shipping container. Utilizing ECSL, this container can be filled with cargo from either one shipper or a mix of cargo from several shippers. The merchandise stays sealed from point of origin to final destination, providing enhanced security, quicker transit, and a reduced chance of damage compared to sharing (LCL) for larger or high-value shipments.

When to Use FCL?

  • Large Shipments: When your cargo fills most or all of a container.

  • High Value/Time Sensitive: For goods needing minimal handling and faster delivery.

  • Reduced Risk: When product integrity is crucial (e.g., electronics, perishables).

LESS THAN CONTAINER LOAD (LCL)

Less than Container Load (LCL) is a shipping method that combines small cargo volumes, which are not sufficient to fill an entire container, with the goods of other businesses into one container, allowing for shared space and costs, making it economical for smaller shipments. Instead of covering the cost for a full container, you are only charged for the space your goods claim, sharing the container and related expenses with other shippers.

When to Use LCL?

  • Smaller Shipments: Use for smaller volumes (e.g., under 15 cubic metres).

  • Flexible Needs: For goods for which fast delivery is not required.

  • Testing New Products

AIR FREIGHT

An air shipment, or air freight, refers to the transportation of goods via aircraft, utilizing cargo planes or the belly holds of passenger jets to ensure quick and dependable delivery of commercial cargo, ranging from small packages to large shipments, which is vital for urgent and high-value items such as perishables or medical items. It plays a crucial role in global supply chains, providing faster options compared to ocean shipping, albeit at a higher expense.

When to Use Air Freight?

  • Perishables: Fresh food, flowers, pharmaceuticals.

  • High-Value Goods: Electronics, luxury items, art.

  • Urgent Items: Medical supplies, trade show materials.
